Dry Storage Cups

Solvent trap cups or dry storage cups are multi-purpose accessories for solvent traps, and can be used for both cleaning and dry storage. They may be used to catch debris and filter the solvent inside the solvent trap. The user may use several storage cups for filtering and separating the solvent, or use the one cup method to catch solvent and debris above the end cap for easy disposal. When cleaning is finished, the solvent trap can then be removed from the barrel, and the used solvent can be transferred to another container to be either recycled or properly disposed of. Solvent trap storage cups are typically made of either stainless steel.
Beyond just cleaning, however, solvent trap cups can serve some other purposes as well. For example, dry storage cups are an accessory that may also be used with solvent traps that divide the interior space for emergency storing of essential items. Post cleaning or during transport, dry storage cups can then be placed back inside solvent trap until ready for use, unless using for dry storage.

Tube

The solvent trap tube is attached to the threaded muzzle of the firearm using the thread protector. This tube is basically a barrel plug that is intended solely for catching and trapping cleaning solvent or dry storage depending on preference. While the tube does attach to the firearm with a thread protector, it will need an end cap secured at the opposite end to trap the used solvent and debri that flows from teh barrel.

Most cleaning solvents contain chemicals that can be harmful if allowed to come into contact with human skin. The tube of the solvent trap includes an end cap that is designed to catch this material and “trap” it inside, preventing potential harm to the user during the cleaning process and to trap debris more efficiently.

End Caps

End caps are used to seal the end of the solvent trap tube. They serve the purpose of seal the end of the solvent trap to ensure the capturing of all of the liquids and other debris that may be dislodged during cleaning. Solvent trap end caps are typically made from premium materials, such as titanium, stainless steel and aluminum. All of Armory Den’s aluminum end caps are made of 7075 Aircraft Grade Aluminum to reduce wear and tear on threads. They also come in various external shapes, including hexagonal, which can make it easier to screw them on and off.

Thread Protectors

Thread protectors screw onto the muzzle end of the solvent trap and are equipped with a barrel thread of various thread pitches depending on the type of firearm they are being used to clean – i.e. 1 / 2 x 28″ being used for 9mm, .22LR, 5.56 NATO caliber firearms and 5/8×28″ being used to clean larger .30 Cal Firearms. Armory Den’s thread protectors are identical in build and material of the end cap of the respective solvent trap they are installed on, so if the solvent trap kit has a 7075 aluminum end cap, it will have an identically constructed thread protector, with the only difference being the additional inner threading for the specific firearm(s) barrel they are intended to clean.
These are the several fundamental elements of a solvent trap kit. Additional parts that may also be purchased include streamlined cleaning products, such as thread conversion adapters to clean various firearms with the same solvent trap and more…

It’s important to note that, as with any consumer product, solvent traps are meant to be used solely as intended, whether that be cleaning, transport, or storage. Solvent traps make cleaning a breeze for avid firearm owners who enjoy to clean efficiently.
